I’m glad you’ve found your way here.
If you’re struggling with trauma, anxiety, relationship disconnection, grief, or navigating a major life transition such as early parenthood, midlife change, perimenopause, or menopause, I’m here to help.
With 20 years of clinical counselling experience, I offer more than talk therapy. My approach combines evidence-based methods such as EMDR therapy, attachment-focused work, and nervous system regulation with a deep respect for each person’s pace and story. Together, we create space to process what feels overwhelming, understand long-standing patterns, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
When it feels helpful, our work can also include reflection on values, purpose, or spirituality — the deeper layers that often bring clarity and direction during times of transition.
I offer in-person counselling in Maple Ridge and online therapy across British Columbia. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of online EMDR sessions and are often surprised by how effective and comfortable they can be. Whether we meet in person or online, our work can help you steady what feels unsettled, understand yourself more deeply, and create the kind of change that lasts.
My areas of specialization include:
- EMDR
- Trauma
- Couples Counselling
- Anxiety/Panic/Phobias
- Prenatal, Postpartum, and Early Parenthood
- Depression and Burnout
I also have experience helping clients struggling with a range of other difficulties. Please visit my Issues Addressed page for more information.

Why seek counselling?
You might be feeling anxious, disconnected, or weighed down by experiences you can’t seem to move past, even though you’ve tried to “just get over it.” Or you may be navigating a major life transition — adjusting to early parenthood, facing midlife change, or moving through perimenopause or menopause and finding that old ways of coping no longer work. Counselling offers a safe, guided space to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, make sense of patterns that keep repeating, and begin developing the awareness, skills, and inner stability to move forward with greater ease and confidence.
Please feel free to contact me and we can discuss your needs and reasons for considering counselling and see how I can be of assistance. Email Carolyn.
The most important factor in successful therapy is finding someone you feel comfortable and safe with. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and see whether it feels like a good fit. You can email me to set this up — I’d be happy to connect and answer any questions.
