Couples Counselling

Couples Counselling and Relationship Therapy in Maple Ridge and surrounding communities of Pitt Meadows and Mission

I support couples at every stage — whether you’re rebuilding connection after conflict, strengthening communication, or preparing for a major life change such as marriage, new parenthood, or retirement. My approach is grounded in both research and compassion, helping you and your partner move beyond surface-level fixes toward deeper understanding, trust, and connection.

I am trained in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two of the most effective and well-researched approaches to couples work. Drawing on both, I help you identify negative interaction patterns, understand the emotional needs beneath conflict, and develop tools to communicate and respond more effectively.

While it can be helpful to have someone mediate a dispute, true change comes from addressing the underlying issues: often shaped by early attachment patterns, stress, or unspoken fears. Together, we work toward resolving these core dynamics so that your relationship feels safer, more supportive, and more connected.

Common reasons couples seek counselling include:
• Communication breakdowns
• Affairs or breaches of trust
• Family-of-origin patterns affecting the relationship
• Adjusting to new parenthood or other major life transitions
• Loss of emotional or physical connection
• Sexual concerns or mismatched desire
• Ongoing conflict over everyday issues
• Relationship enrichment or premarital counselling

I welcome and work respectfully with couples of all genders and orientations, including LGBTQ2S+ relationships.
